[edit] Political and Legal Systems: Military Effects

Motto of the Moroccan Armed Forces (Reference 1)

  • God: Creator of all destiny, by His Mercy we draw from, He ordains our choice to right path
  • Nation: Land that begets our bounty, from which we sustain ourselves we protect its integrity from and defend it from all enemies
  • King: Our commander and guide, he guides our renaissance and development, protector of our people’s rights

Countries strive in many aspects to protect both who they are as people and the difinitive border around their land, which designates what they claim as their own. The Morrocan government has created, for this purpose, several branches of military power. These branches, all reside under the grand heading of the Royal Armed Forces (Forces Armees Royales, FAR). As the duties of each section are divided each branch is named as follows: Royal Moroccan Army (which includes Air Defense), Navy (which includes Marines), and the Royal Moroccan Air Force, also known as Force Aerienne Royale Marocaine. (Reference 2) As with any other country the Moroccan people take pride in what they have accomplished as a sovereign kingdom. The Moroccan people have stood their solid ground as an ally to the United States, which allows their military to be very well equipped and protected. (Reference 1) This alliance was pushed forward by the political meltdown of the USSR, due to the idea that Morocco sought refuge and protection and discovered both of these in the U.S. While this alliance has stood the test of time, it is not the only long standing reputation that Morocco has maintained. The Moroccans, thanks to their military viewpoint, have been known quite often as the peacekeepers of the Middle East. Some say that they have taken it upon themselves to be the overseer of trade of the see near the Gibraltar Strait. (Reference 1)

It can be determined from all of the above information that Morocco has at its benefit the privilege to have a military that sustains its borders as well as encourages trade. The military allows for the Moroccan government to strategies in order to grow the economy of the people and therefore to encourage the growth of the nation itself. As long as this military continues in this method of thinking toward the countries and resources around them they will be able to see reap the benefits of an ever-growing business market.
